Lower Focsle

This area houses the only non steam powered engine on the tug. It's a single cylinder Lister-Petter diesel engine of ancient origins. It has a decompression lever and is crank start. Most often, it requires a good sniff of ether before it coughs into life as the emergency fire pump. It is a requirement by NZ maritme law to have an alternative fire fighting pump.
